Huitt-Zollars has Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) trained and certified Substantially Damaged Assessors and Cost Estimators with significant experience in providing engineering, architectural, surveying, and condition assessment services in response to national disasters including Tropical Storm Allison (2001), Hurricane Rita (2005), and Hurricane Ike (2008). Within 24 hours of these events, Huitt-Zollars mobilized emergency response teams to conduct damage assessments of residential areas, flood control and navigation channels, control structures, jetties, public buildings, and parks. To date, we have inspected over 2,700 flood-damaged residences and prepared the required FEMA Substantially Damaged Estimates and supporting documentation.
