As part of the City of Dallas’ Balanced Vision Plan for the Trinity River Floodplain Corridor, the MMD bridges are the second signature bridges in Dallas designed by internationally renowned architect, engineer and artist Santiago Calatrava. The parallel twin MMD bridges consist of two thrust arches that span 1,125 feet and rise 285 feet above the bridge deck. The 20-foot-four-inch bridge width features a 7-foot raised sidewalk and 11-foot dual bike lanes. Huitt-Zollars served as the Structural Engineer-of-Record for these signature bridges adjacent to downtown Dallas.
