Victory at Verrado

Victory, located in Buckeye, Arizona, lies at the base of the White Tanks Mountains. It is the Active Adult component of the Verrado Master Planned Community which encompasses an area of approximately 1,200 acres and is comprised of a 30,000-square-foot Community Center, 18-hole golf course, and residential development that ranges from high to low density. Victory is planned around the “active” adult, specifically an extensive path/trail system. This is in addition to the golf course, numerous sport courts, and mountain hiking trails.

Understanding hillside grading is a key component of the northern portion of Victory. Strategically placed open space, road alignments, and the use of available boulders are examples of how Huitt-Zollars has solved challenging slopes that also provide visual interest. In addition to the residential design, Huitt-Zollars prepared the backbone infrastructure components including water, sewer, roadway, and storm drain design. Roundabouts were used to maintain traffic flow while providing traffic calming features. Roadway improvements included the signature transportation corridor, Verrado Way, as well as Indian School Road and two miles of collector streets.
