Huitt-Zollars conducted planning studies to develop cargo aircraft mix and space requirements. The studies identified short-range and long-term facility requirements for the East Cargo Handling Center. The plan developed apron and cargo handling requirements through the year 2020. The site evaluation included proposed aircraft parking positions and evaluation of clearances under the FAR Part 77 Transitional Surface. Huitt-Zollars designed the civil airside improvements and prepared civil construction documents for the cargo apron expansion. Work included preparing alternative pavement sections, designing dimensional control, grading, joint layout, markings and a blast deflector fence.
