Madison High School

Madison High School serves as a major academic hub for 2,100 students and faculty. The 264,000-square-foot facility is constructed on the high school’s existing site and offers career pathways in environmental science professions and robotics. The design concept stems from the desire for the school to be the flexible core of the community, projecting a positive future for its students.

Vertical bands of textured concrete, masonry, glazing and translucent panels mark the entry. The material panels differ in overall dimension and texture to accommodate multiple uses behind the envelope but provide a consistent assembly system. Concrete panels, steel columns and joists make up the structure visible throughout the building.

The building has two levels of neighborhood-based learning centers showcasing career development off a central corridor.
